Contribution to Undergraduate Program
The undergraduate training programme consists of an introductory programme, three paediatric appointments and a lecture series.
Introductory Programme –
This is held after the 2nd MBBS examination with the aim of preparing the undergraduate student for the clinical studies.
1st Paediatric Appointment –
This is held in the 3rd year of undergraduate medical training. The students have to face an OSCE at the end of 4-week appointment in the Teaching Hospital Anuradhapura.
2nd Paediatric Appointment –
This is held in the 4th year of undergraduate medical training. It is a 4-week appointment in the Teaching Hospital Anuradhapura.
Professorial Appointment –
This is an 8-week appointment which will be held at the professorial paediatric ward. During this appointment the student will undergo intensive training to achieve necessary knowledge, skills and attitudes to become an intern medical officer.
