Welcome to the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
Our department is responsible for teaching obstetrics and gynaecology to the undergraduate students of the faculty of Medicine & Allied Sciences of the university of Rajarata. Additional responsibilities are to train post graduate doctors and provide an excellent regional training centre for all medical staff and nurses in the north central province. We try our best to provide an intellectually stimulating and friendly environment for students to learn obstetrics gynaecology.
Our clinical services are provided at the Professorial wing, Teaching hospital Anuradhapura. The unit consists of three wards, namely ante natal, post natal and gynaecology. We have a state of the art delivery suite with modern theatre facilities.
Ante natal and gynaecology clinics are held every Monday at 8 am
Department offices are situated adjacent to the ante natal ward in third floor of the Professorial wing. Clinical library with internet facilities, auditorium and student canteen are also situated in the same wing.
