Contribution to Undergraduate Program

The undergraduate teaching program consists of two phases.

Phase one consists of a four-week clinical appointment in psychiatry for 3rd or 4th year students. During this appointment, students are introduced to assessment, diagnosis and management of common mental health conditions.

During phase two, final year medical students undergo an eight-week clinical appointment in psychiatry attached to the professorial unit at Teaching Hospital Anuradhapura. This is accompanied by a clinical psychiatry lecture series.
