The Department of Forensic Medicine operates as a department within the Faculty of Medicine and allied sciences, Rajarata University of Sri Lanka.Its main goal is to advance the discipline of forensic medicine and to increase the evidence basis for the field through research.
The department of Forensic Medicine was established in 2008 in the Para-clinical Coordinator’s office in the Administrative building. The department moved to its own premises in 2010, located in the west side of the ground floor of the new Para-clinical building.
It functions in close association with the Teaching hospital Anuradhapura
