- Dr. Janith Warnasekara (Founding Member and Administrative Head): Dr. Warnasekara brings expertise in epidemiological studies, statistics, and research design. As a founding member and the current administrative head, he plays a crucial role in shaping the research directions and managing the operations of our laboratory, ensuring our projects are both scientifically rigorous and well-coordinated.
- Dr. Dinesha Jayasundara (Microbiologist in Charge): As the microbiologist in charge, Dr. Jayasundara is an authority in culture isolation and Microscopic Agglutination Test (MAT) techniques. Her expertise ensures high standards in our diagnostic processes and contributes significantly to our research capabilities in leptospirosis.
- Mr. Indika Senewirathna (Lead Scientist and Biochemist): Mr. Senewirathna is the lead scientist at our laboratory, focusing on cutting-edge research into cytokine and immune responses, as well as molecular diagnostics. His leadership in these areas is instrumental in pioneering developments in the study and treatment of leptospirosis.
- Ms. Chamila Kappagoda (Junior Scientist and Research Associate): Ms. Kappagoda oversees the daily operations of our laboratory, ensuring that our research and diagnostic activities run smoothly. Specializing in qPCR-based diagnostics and Toll-Like Receptor (TLR) response, her technical expertise supports the lab’s ongoing projects and contributes to our advancements in leptospirosis
