Clerkship programmes conducted in public health:
This is one of the main field-based teaching/training programmes in public health for medical undergraduates. This training is conducted as rotational appointments for fourth-year medical undergraduates.
The public health system in Sri Lanka has substantially contributed to the exemplary achievements in the Sri Lankan health indicators and the clerkship training programme provides a comprehensive overview of the public health system in the country.
The programme includes field visits to,
- meet and discuss with different public health professionals in the public health system at grass-root, divisional and regional levels,
- observe public health service provisions via a diverse set of clinics targeted at different population groups, and
- observe institutes providing services of public health significance (e.g. water treatment plant, care for children with special needs, elderly care).
Fees
130 USD/Week (No registration fee or other fees)
