It is with a profound sense of honour and a deep awareness of the responsibility it carries that I write this message as the president of the Anuradhapura Medical Association 2026. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the members of the Anuradhapura Medical Association for reposing your faith in me to lead this premier medical organisation in our beloved city.
As we embark on this journey together, the theme guiding our AMA council 2026 is “Science, Professionalism, and Humanity for Advancement in Clinical Practice.” In an era of rapidly evolving medical knowledge, we believe that true clinical excellence rests on a three-legged stool: a rigorous foundation in scientific evidence, the highest standards of professional ethics, and the timeless, irreplaceable touch of human empathy.
To translate this vision into reality, we have curated a comprehensive calendar of Continuous Professional Development (CPD) activities. Our fortnightly Continuing Medical Education (CME) lectures will ensure we remain abreast of the latest scientific advances. Beyond clinical updates, we recognize the need for holistic growth; our upcoming CPD Workshops will focus on enhancing soft skills, communication, and leadership. We are also dedicated to nurturing the next generation, and our MD Preparation MCQ course stands as a testament to our commitment to our trainees. Furthermore, our flagship publication, the Journal of Tropical Health, will continue to serve as a platform for scholarly discourse relevant to the tropics.
The council of AMA 2026 is deeply committed to serving our medical community, the dedicated doctors who strive for excellence, and ultimately, the people of Rajarata who entrust us with their care. Together, let us uplift the AMA to be a beacon of knowledge, a pillar of professionalism, and a model of compassionate care.
